Description
This is the Original Fight Poster for the most famous fight of Ali's career. Ali and his opponent, Big George Foreman were both former Olympic Gold Medal winners in the heavyweight division. The 'RUMBLE IN THE JUNGLE' , held in Zaire, Africa was the first heavyweight championship fight ever held on the continent of Africa. Ali was a heavy underdog to the big bad Foreman, who now sells the famous George Foreman Grill. The Beautiful Ali unleashed the now world famous tactic 'The Rope-A-Dope and fooled Big George into tiring himself out. Ali then knocked Big George out with a Thunderous Right Hand. The fight was originally scheduled for September 24, 1974, but had to be re-scheduled due to a Foreman eye injury. That means this poster was developed over a shorter period of time because of the delay, note the poster has the actual fight date of October 29, 1974. There is a written inscription in the top left hand corner ' Ali Winner & Still Champeen!'. I bought the poster in 1989 and was told by the seller that he attended the fight and Ali wrote that inscription, although, I have not been able to authenicate. Anyway, this poster is timeless, just as Ali. There will never be such a great Champion as the Great Ali. This poster represent the best of History, Ali is still the most famous person on Planet Earth. The poster is 24 X 36 and beautifully framed. ' You are bidding a piece of History'.
