Official MAZDASPEED Le Mans AM/PM Racing Team Jacket This is one of a relatively small number of jackets made for the team at the 1997 Le Mans 24 Hours. If you are a fan of Rotary Engines, Mazda, AutoExe, Kudzu Prototypes or Le Mans this is a great find.  The jacket is almost brand new having only been worn a few times during the race week by the lead designer of the car (me).    This is a very nice, medium weight, high-quality jacket with a hood in the collar, many pockets, snaps & zippered front closure.  Black with sort of a mesh lining, the coat was made by Jun tailors of Japan. It is a Japanese size so the designation probably doesn’t mean much to you.  I can tell you that it comfortably fits someone who is 6’3” with an athletic build … in fact it is a little on the large size.  This is a great jacket to begin with.  The Le Mans / Mazda history makes it extra special to fans!     The AM/PM mascot and Mazdaspeed logo are on the front of the jacket.  The shoulder has the Jun logo and the sleeve has AM / PM 24 embroidered on it.  Only the mascot is a patch. The back is also embroidered with Mazdaspeed and “Le Mans ’97 Team AM/PM Japan”  AM/PM is a chain of convenience stores that was the team’s primary sponsor If you are not an AM/PM fan the patch of the mascot on the front is easily removed by anyone with the slightest sewing skill.     The drivers for this car were Japanese legend Yojiro Terada, Jim Downing (constructor of the car) and French hot shoe Franck Freon. If you are interested in the jacket I am happy to email you pictures of the car and if I can find them also pictures of team members wearing these.    This is just the perfect coat to wear with your fast and furious Mazda RX-7, RX-8, or Miata at the track or just hanging out with friends.Also very nice for a cool evening at Petit Le Mans, a chilly afternoon in Daytona,or a torrential downpour in Sebring!    I can post more pictures if you are interested.
