The suit is manufactured by Sparco in September of 2001 (see image of inside tagging). The drivers suit originated from the Jeff Gordon Foundation and is accompanied by their letter (see image of letter). The drivers suit was auctioned in Charlotte, North Carolina, in April 2002 (Rick Hendrick Charity Golf Classic). The drivers suit shows evidence of wear like patches with puckering from multiple wear and washings. Jeff signed this drivers suit below the Hendrick Motorsports patch. The sponsors and their patches orientation on the suit matches his promotional card photo for the 2002 season. On the back is Jeff's Web site address embroidered at the top in white lettering. Jeff was the only person on the team that had his Web address on the back of his firesuit. Other teammates (pit crew) had the Hendrick Motorsports Web address on the back. The Sparco bag that protects the suit is also included (see image).Also included in this auction is an autographed victory lane Chevrolet cap. This cap was worn in the "hat dance" after the race when the winning driver poses for sponsor photos. The certificate, from Jeff Gordon Motorsports, was worn by Jeff Gordon on June 25, 2006.The winning bidder will also receive a pair of Nike race shoes like the pair Jeff uses with this firesuit. Note: these shoes were not worn by Jeff or any other driver and are for display only. Firesuits worn by NASCAR drivers are a rare opportunity. A superstar with four NASCAR championships is a scarce opportunity. I've only seen three Jeff Gordon driver suits auctioned in the past eight years.
