Mr. Schaare has entitled it, "Basketball 2". Basketball is a game of motion and this fine art serigraph (done with silkscreens) highlights this on-going motion by capturing it in a moment of time. The offensive player shoots, the defensive player tries to block, the other players jockey for position to get the rebound if the shot should fail. All are in motion.   The artist was born and raised in New York and is a graduate of the Pratt Institute. He has traveled extensively and his travels have led to the great diversity of subject matter in his work and composition. Mr. Schaare's style, though, remains the same throughout - His talented hand captures the action and spirit of the variety of subjects and focuses our attention on it.   The Basketball 2 edition was done in the late-1970's, early-1980's. This serigraph is number 201 from the artist's limited edition of 325. Its image size is 33" high by 20½" across, and its paper size 37½" by 25", so it is good-sized and will frame up beautifully. The serigraph itself is a superb graphic, done with rich high-deposit inks. The 4" diameter tube is more expensive than using a 3" diameter tube like we can do with posters, for example, but it is well worth it in terms of protecting the artwork by allowing us to roll the piece more loosely.
