James (23 years, 324 days) reached the plateau with a wide-open jump shot set up by a great crossover dribble late in the first quarter of the Cavaliers' game with the New Jersey Nets. He came into the game with 10,987 points. Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers was 25 years, 99 days when he reached 11,000 points. Espn.com (11/17/2008) James honored again: Lebron James was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week. In three games during the week of Nov. 10-16 -- all victories -- James averaged an NBA-high 33.7 points on .600 shooting, 8.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds in 41.0 minutes per game. James has now won the award 15 times in his career. Espn.com (11/13/2008) James, who had scored exactly 41 points in each of Cleveland's past four games, became the first player to score at least 40 points three times in his team's first eight games since Michael Jordan in 1991. Espn.com (11/5/2008) With two steals in Dallas on Monday, James reached 700 in his career and became the youngest and fastest player to reach 700 steals, 10,000 points, 2,500 rebounds, 2,500 assists and 300 blocks. The 23-year-old did it in 395 games. Michael Jordan was the second fastest (417 games) and Kobe Bryant (26) the second youngest. Invest in Lebron NOW - while his best years are still ahead of him. This is something you may never have thought about. Something you really shouldn’t have to think about. Most grading companies’ holders are designed to offer general protection to the card and card corners. What they do not do is offer protection from movement. When a card moves or slides around inside a holder, over time the edges can receive damage. The surface can also scratch. If the movement is great enough (such as dropping the holder or even being carried all over the country from card show to card show), the overall condition of the card can be affected and the grade lowered. Imagine the surprise when a graded card is sent for a crossover and the condition of the card is no longer what the label says!Even the gasket-type insert holders can cause damage. We have seen cards slide completely out of the gasket cutout and behind the gasket in the holder. Some holders use a “soft sleeve” or “penny sleeve” inside the holder. While these may slow down some movement, The gasket can still move inside the holder and offer little protection overall. As the grading industry ages, more and more of these problems are starting to surface. Having a card graded should include full protection for the card. The holder should maintain the grade of the card for years to come. One of the greatest innovations Beckett offers is the BGS/BVG inner sleeve. The custom Beckett designed archival inner sleeve not only allows viewing of the card in its entirety, but it also prevents the card from moving and causing holder damage. Each internal sleeve is custom sized and sealed to prevent movement and damage. The Beckett holder offers real protection for the long haul. No matter when a BGS/BVG card was graded, you can rest assured that the grade is still the same. Whether you are grading hot rookies for resale, or grading your collection to cherish for decades to come, what holder you put your cards in is an important decision.- Andy Broome, BGS Grading ESPN.com:"It must make LeBron James smile sometimes to know how many people are hanging on his long-awaited arrival on the open market as a free agent … even though that's still almost 600 days away."
