MAYS SGC 70' Description UP FOR SALE IS THE ENTIRE LOW NUMBER SET OF 1952 TOPPS 1-310.  THIS IS, AS THEY SAY THE HOLY GRAIL OF BASEBALL CARD SETS.  I SPENT MUCH TIME AND MONEY COLLECTING THEM AND THE THOUGHT OF GETTING THE HIGH NUMBERS IS DAUNTING AT THIS POINT, ALTHOUGH THIS COLLECTION IS A SAFER PLACE TO PUT YOUR MONEY THAN ANY KIND OF MARKET.  I WOULD GRADE THIS SET AS VG-EX AND THERE ARE SOME THAT ARE OBVIOUSLY BETTER AND A FEW THAT ARE WORSE. This is not a professional grade but it is my opinion comparing conditions of ungraded cards to those of cards that are graded. I truly feel that there are some 7-8's in the 5+ grade but hate to promise anything. The only fault with some that I think would be 8+ is centering and it is not awful centering, maybe 70/30 I will show you a specific card if you have questions regarding them. Notable numbers in the 1-3 range are: 31 zernial, 310 metkovich, 300, 299, 281, 233. The remainder have book value of $60 or less. Notable numbers in 5+ range. 80, 289 tommy homes, 282, 277 wynn, 274 branca, 246 kell, 243 doby, 201, 195 minoso, 64, 23, 36 hodges (OC), 11 Rizzuto, 55 boone, 59 roberts. The remaining cards have a value of $70 or less. The remainder of the star fall into the 4 range including billy martin, bob feller and duke snider. This is definitely not a set of fillers. Some of the ones I think are 4's probably could go to a 5 and alternatively to a 3 but I feel most are strong 4's and none are falling to a 2 or worse. I would imagine that if each card was sold separately the total amount paid for them would reach the buy it now price or higher as that is nearly what I have paid and that is buying many at bulk for a discounted rate. I have done all of the hard work and paying shipping on individual cards and paying overprice at card shows, all of the labor of collecting them for you.
