Description 1944 Brooklyn Tigers Pennant Original pennant from the 1944 Brooklyn Tigers who survived one year in the tumultuous times of the early 1940s. We were at war and many teams struggled to survived. These are the years when many teams combined to try and survive because so many players were called to serve their country. It is an awesome piece of sports history which really should be in a museum! Their record of 0 and 10 was the worst in the league. As i understand it the Brooklyn Dodgers were folded into the Brooklyn Tigers at the end of the 1943 season. The Tigers played in Ebbetts Field. In 1945 the Tigers became the Boston Yanks! The Yanks went on to have a slightly better record in 1945. Pennant is full size approx. 11 1/4" x 28 3/4" and Ex condition. Has some soiling to white spine, rounded tip, good paint with only slight wear, light aging and wear for its age! White paint on bright red felt. The asking price is alot of money but i trully believe this item is underpriced. When you think of the History of the team and our country at the time and how amazing it is the league survived at all how can we determine a value? Its priceless!
